Learn how to automatically capture Google Maps review ratings for a business profile page with PagePixels.

The screencast video above uses this screenshot template you can duplicate to your PagePixels account.

PagePixels is a screenshot automation solution that you can use to take automated scheduled screenshots of web pages, including a Google My Business Profile review ratings page.

PagePixels is free to start, and this tutorial demonstrates how to capture Google review metrics:

  • Average star rating score (as a number and as a star pictograph chart),
  • Total number of reviews,
  • And rating distribution (as a bar chart).

How to screenshot Google Business Profile review ratings

To take recurring screenshots of your Google My Business Profile ratings on a daily schedule:

Create a screenshot

Log in to your PagePixels account, and click the "+Create Screenshot" button.

Set your schedule

By default, recurring screenshots are set to every 5 minutes.

For a daily screenshot, change the default frequency values from every "5" "Minutes" to every "1" "Days" using the input field and drop-down menu.

Copy and paste your Google Business Maps review tab link into the "Website URL to Capture" field.

Add CSS Selector

PagePixels CSS selector option comes in handy when you want to capture only a specific element on a web page.

In this case - to screenshot only the reviews metrics on the Google Maps page, you can use the CSS Selector:

Increase the "Time to wait" value

Because Google Maps can take a long time to load, we recommend increasing the "Time to wait" value from 1500 to 6000 (value is in milliseconds).

Change Scale Factor (optional)

To produce a higher resolution screenshot of the reviews rating element, select the option 2 from the "Scale Factor" field drop-down menu.

Add custom CSS (optional)

PagePixels CSS injection option is useful for customizing the style of a web page or a specific element you want to screenshot.

In this case - to add padding to the reviews rating element, you can use the CSS:

.Bd93Zb{padding: 6px 8px !important;}

Save Screenshot

Click the green "Save Screenshot" (top-right) button.

Your screenshot automation is officially set, and your first screenshot will be taken shortly.
