How to take and AI analyze web page screenshots in PagePixels

Learn how you can automate web page screenshots and have AI analyze the screenshot images based on your custom prompts in PagePixels.

Introduction

PagePixels is a screenshot automation tool that can help you automate screenshots and run AI-powered analysis on the captured images.

You can accomplish this using the AI Analysis Screenshot feature, which captures a web page and has an AI visually analyze the image guided by your custom text prompt.

AI Analysis is ready to go (no additional setup is required) and all PagePixels accounts get 25 FREE AI Analysis credits per month.

Once the AI processes your screenshot, you can preview the analysis results in your PagePixels account or send the AI's analysis to external systems via Custom Webhook, Zapier, Make, or the Screenshot API.

For example, this tutorial demonstrates how to take daily AI analysis website screenshots and send the AI analysis results to a custom webhook address.

Prerequisites

Before you start, you'll need:

  • A PagePixels account.
  • A link to a web page you'd like to screenshot and have AI analyze.
  • A webhook address.
    • Tip: You can get a webhook address from services n8n and pipedream. These services are quick to set up, connect to other apps, and are free to try out.

How to take and AI analyze web page screenshots in PagePixels

To take daily AI Analysis screenshots of a web page and send to a custom webhook address:

Create a screenshot

Log in to your PagePixels account, and click the +Create Screenshot button.

Schedule your screenshots

By default, recurring screenshots are taken every 5 minutes.

For a daily screenshot, use the input and dropdown fields to change the default values to: 1 Days

Add URL

Copy and paste the web page URL you want to screenshot and AI analyze into the Website URL to Capture field.

Configure AI Analysis

Check the Analyze Screenshot with AI option, and add your prompt to the AI Prompt field.

Note: The "AI Prompt" field requires "Analyze Screenshot with AI" option to be checked, and can be up to 2000 characters.

Save Screenshot

Click the green Save Screenshot button (top-right).

(Optional) Preview AI results

Hover over AI Response to preview the AI analysis results.

Edit Screenshot

Click the pen icon to edit the screenshot configuration.

Add Custom Webhook address

Enter a valid webhook address into the webhook integration field (right-side).

Click the Save Screenshot button again.

Your screenshot automation is officially set, and your screenshot and AI Analysis data will automatically post to your custom webhook address.
