Screenshotlayer's Basic plan is $19.99 a month, which is $239.88 a year for 10,000 snapshots. That is a good headline price and cheaper than ours at that volume. Sitting immediately beside it on the same card is Platinum Support at $479.88 billed annually. The support add-on costs twice the plan, and their own FAQ says the box is checked automatically when you select a plan. You have to notice it and untick it.
Leave it checked and 10,000 snapshots a month costs $719.76 for the first year against $359.88 here. Untick it and they are $10 a month cheaper than us at that volume, which section 03 concedes as a row they win. There is also a row that ties to the cent, at 30,000. Everything above that is ours, and above 75,000 they publish no price at all.

Basic on its own is $239.88 a year for 10,000 snapshots against our $359.88, and that row goes to them in section 03. The comparison above is what their checkout offers you by default.
Their ladder is four plans deep and priced sharply: Free at 100 snapshots, Basic at $19.99 for 10,000, Professional at $59.99 for 30,000, Enterprise at $149.99 for 75,000. Annual billing takes 10 to 15 percent off. At 10,000 and again at 30,000 those are competitive numbers, and we say so in section 03.
Beside each paid plan is a second line item: Platinum Support, billed annually, at $479.88 on Basic, $599.88 on Professional, and $719.88 on the top card. Read each of those against twelve months of the plan it attaches to. On Basic the add-on is $479.88 against $239.88 of plan, so the support costs twice the software. On Professional the add-on is $599.88 against $719.88 of plan. On Enterprise it is $719.88 against $1,799.88. Basic is the only plan where the add-on costs more than the thing it supports, and Basic is the plan most people start on.
What turns this from a pricing choice into a design choice is one line in their own FAQ: when you select a pricing plan, the Platinum Support option is automatically checked. It is genuinely optional and they document how to remove it. It is also the default, which means the advertised $19.99 and the number on your first invoice are different unless you spot a tickbox.
We do not sell support. Every plan here, including the free one, gets the same access to the same people, and the price on the pricing page is the price on the invoice. Their free plan, for the record, lists support as none at all.

Untick the box and their plan is $239.88 against our $359.88, and that row is theirs. Leave it as it arrives and the same volume costs twice what we charge.
Two rows, plus a tie. At 10,000 snapshots Basic is $19.99 and we are $29.99, a clean $10 a month in their favour as long as the support box is unticked. At 75,000 their Enterprise plan is $149.99 and we would put you on the 100,000 tier at $199.99.
At 30,000 it is $59.99 against $59.99. Not approximately: the same number. We would rather print that than dress it up, and at that volume they also hand you CDN delivery and S3 or FTP export, neither of which we offer.
Edge delivery is not the differentiator some comparisons make it. We run the same strategy, so a capture comes back from a nearby node on either side. What differs is what sits behind the edge: a dated 48-month archive here, and on their side a CDN with no published retention period.
Read their free plan card literally. A hundred snapshots, CDN support, WebP capped at 70 percent quality, HTTPS, and against the support line the words No Support. Retina capture, full WebP quality, and dedicated workers all begin at Basic. Export to S3 or FTP begins at Professional, at $59.99.
The larger gap is not a tier boundary at all. Nothing they publish schedules a capture, compares one capture to the previous one, or alerts you. Screenshotlayer is a render endpoint with a CDN in front of it. Their CDN stores your snapshots, and they publish no retention period for how long it keeps them; ours is 48 months on every plan, stated as a number.
One row in the table below goes to them, and it is the fifth. Export straight to an S3 bucket or an FTP path arrives on their Professional plan. We deliver to Dropbox, Slack, and any webhook, and we keep the archive ourselves, but we do not write to S3 or FTP at any price.

Screenshotlayer is an API, and one of the oldest in this category, so this section is not about whether you can call it. It is about what happens between calls. Nothing on their pricing page, in their feature grid, or in their FAQ fires a capture on a schedule, compares two snapshots, or tells you that something moved.
Ours is on the free plan in full: create and update configs on a schedule, trigger a capture on demand, read change notifications, list the archive. So is the hosted MCP server, which means an agent can put a page under observation today and read back what changed next month.
The retention difference matters here too. Their CDN holds your snapshots and their pricing page names no period for it. Ours is 48 months while the account stays active, which is a number you can put in a compliance answer.
On Screenshotlayer, retina capture starts at $19.99, export starts at $59.99, and a dedicated account team is a $479.88 annual add-on. Here the list below is the free plan, and the paid plans differ from it only in how many screenshots you get.
Every plan here, including the free one, reaches the same people. There is no annual support tier to tick or untick, so the number on the pricing page is the number on the invoice. Theirs runs $479.88 to $719.88 a year on top of the plan.
Every capture stored, dated, and openable for four years while the account stays active, with no cap on archive size. Their snapshots sit on a CDN and their pricing page publishes no retention period for it.
Set an interval from five minutes to monthly and the capture fires without you. Nothing they publish schedules anything, so on that side the interval is your cron job and your uptime.
Compare this capture to the last one, exclude the regions that always move, and get told when something real changes, by email, Slack, or webhook. That comparison is code you write on their side.
Choose the country, state, or city a page is captured from, on any plan. Their pricing page lists no location option at any tier.
Thirteen action types run in the order you list them: log in, fill the form, choose the dropdown, click through, wait for the element, then capture. Nothing on their site lists an equivalent ordered sequence.
Four cases, and two of them describe things we do not do at all. Every one of them assumes the same three things are off your list, because Screenshotlayer has none of them at any tier: a schedule that fires on its own, an ordered sequence that logs in or fills a form before the shot, and capture from a country you choose. Section 02 lists all three as absent from their site.
If any one of those is something you need, none of the cases below closes the gap and the rest of this page is the answer. If none of them is, and your volume lands exactly on 10,000 with the support box unticked, the first case is you and you should buy from them.

Screenshotlayer is an apilayer product, so it arrives on the same dashboard, invoice, and support relationship as the rest of their marketplace. If you already run two or three of their APIs, consolidating a screenshot endpoint onto that contract has real administrative value. We are a single-product vendor and cannot offer that.
From Professional at $59.99 they upload straight to your own S3 bucket or a custom FTP path. We do not write to either at any price, on any plan. Dropbox, Slack, and webhooks are what we have.
They publish dedicated workers per plan: ten simultaneous captures on Basic, twenty on Professional, forty on Enterprise. If you are batching thousands of URLs and need to size the job, having that number on the pricing page is genuinely useful, and we do not publish an equivalent.
Check your invoice before your usage. If Platinum Support is on it, that annual line is renewing on its own date rather than with the plan, so find out when. Then count your monthly volume, because at exactly 10,000 snapshots they are the cheaper renderer and this move costs you money.
Honest note: their S3 and FTP export is a real advantage we do not match, so if a write into your own bucket is load-bearing, that is a reason to stay. Edge delivery is not a reason: we run the same strategy. What builds here is kept for 48 months while the account stays active.

They bill overages rather than stopping, at roughly $0.0080 per snapshot on every paid plan, and they notify you at 75, 90, and 100 percent of the allowance. Ten thousand snapshots past the Basic quota adds $79.96, which is four times the monthly plan price. Our answer to more volume is the next rung on a nine-rung ladder.

Their FAQ says the format parameter returns PNG, JPEG, or GIF. Their plan cards separately advertise WebP support at up to 100 percent quality on paid plans and 70 percent on free. We cannot reconcile those two statements from outside, so test WebP before you depend on it.
Three things, all real. Price at exactly 10,000 snapshots, where Basic is $19.99 against our $29.99. Direct export to S3 or FTP from Professional, which we do not offer at any price. And a published concurrency figure per plan, which is genuinely useful when you are sizing a batch job. Edge delivery is not on that list, because we run the same strategy.
Ours is hosted at mcp.pagepixels.com with OAuth 2.1 and exposes the whole API as tools, including the archive. We searched their site, their documentation, and general search on 28 July 2026 and found no MCP server. That is a negative search result rather than a vendor denial, so we re-check it quarterly.
