We are only the answer to three of these. The rest go elsewhere, and the reason is stated rather than implied.
You need scheduled capture plus alerts
PagePixels
Capture on a schedule from every five minutes to once a year, detect text-level change on a selector, and route the alert to Slack, a webhook, or an automation platform. Screenshot APIs in this table do not do the second and third parts, and monitoring platforms charge per page for them.
Your target needs a login or a form
PagePixels
Build the sequence once and every capture replays it in a real browser session: open the page, type the email and password, click submit, wait for the dashboard to finish loading, dismiss the cookie banner, then capture. Steps can also click links, fill out forms, select from menus, and run your own JavaScript or CSS. Most APIs here offer a single CSS-selector click, which cannot carry you through a sign-in form and a redirect. Multi-step capture is on every plan, including the free one.
The page differs by country
PagePixels
Real Locations capture through a proxy network in 150+ countries, US states, and cities, on every plan including free. Geographic capture is an upper-tier feature or an add-on almost everywhere else in this table, and on Hexowatch the choice of server location needs their Business plan.
You need raw captures, nothing else
SnapRender or CaptureKit
At fifty thousand they are $79 and $89, so at volume they undercut us. At ten thousand the order reverses. Both are pure renderers: neither SnapRender nor CaptureKit schedules a recurring capture, compares two captures for changes, or signs in on the way to one, all of which are on every PagePixels plan. If you will genuinely never need those, buy on the volume you actually run.
You want the lowest possible price
changedetection.io
Free, open source, self-hosted, and genuinely good. You pay in server maintenance and setup time instead of subscription, and the browser, the proxies, and the uptime are yours to run. Capturing from 150+ locations or replaying a login sequence is work you would be doing yourself.
You need pixel-exact rendering control
ScreenshotOne
The deepest set of rendering options published by anyone: font control, animation freezing, dark-mode emulation, blocking rules. On rendering fidelity alone nobody in this table is ahead of it, and if a specific artefact is what you are chasing, they probably have the flag for it. The trade is the layer above the render: the schedule, the change alert, and the multi-step login are all yours to build and host, where here they are on every plan including free.
You need a contractual SLA and invoicing
Urlbox
The longest track record and published SLAs above their entry plans. If procurement needs a vendor with a decade of enterprise references, that is a real reason and we are not going to argue you out of it. It is still a renderer: nothing in it schedules a capture or tells you the page moved.
You are watching hundreds of pages daily
Visualping or Hexowatch
Hundreds of pages daily runs into tens of thousands of screenshots a month, and a flat per-page plan is cheaper at that shape. Hexowatch has the widest detector coverage in the segment, though their click-and-login actions start at Pro and their server-location choice at Business, both of which are on our free plan.
You need court-admissible evidence
PageFreezer or Smarsh
Forensic capture with eDiscovery export formats and WORM archiving for FINRA and SEC obligations. We produce dated visual records kept for 48 months, which is a different thing. If a regulator or opposing counsel is the audience, do not buy a screenshot tool.
