  • A PagePixels account.
  • A link to an OpenWeatherMap weather report page
    • As an example, this link shows the current OpenWeatherMap weather report for Vancouver, Canada.

How to automate taking screenshots of an OpenWeatherMap weather information report

To capture automatic screenshots of an OpenWeatherMap weather report widget:

1

Create a screenshot

Log in to your PagePixels account, and click the +Create Screenshot button.

2

Schedule your screenshots

By default, recurring screenshots are taken every 5 minutes.

For a daily screenshot, use the input and dropdown fields to change the default values to: 1 Days

3

Add URL

Copy and paste the link to your OpenWeatherMap weather report page into the Website URL to Capture field.

4

Add CSS Selector

PagePixels CSS Selector option helps you capture a specific element on a web page.

In this case - to screenshot only the weather widget element on OpenWeatherMap's website, you can use the CSS Selector:

#weather-widget > div.section-content
5

Increase Wait Time

To give the page more time to load, change the Time to wait value to: 8000

You can increase the value further if needed. Max is 20000 (unless you have the 5-minute Timeout Addon).

6

Add Custom CSS (optional)

With the PagePixels CSS Injection option, you can customize the style of a web page before taking a screenshot.

For instance, to add some white space around the weather widget, you can use the CSS:

#weather-widget > div.section-content{
padding: 20px !important;
}
7

Save Screenshot

Click the green Save Screenshot button (top-right).

Your screenshot automation is officially set, and your first screenshot will be taken shortly.
