How to take automatic screenshots of private Google Sheets data with Zapier

Learn how you can automatically create screenshots of your Google Sheets data in Zapier using the PagePixels Screenshots app Custom HTML functionality.

Introduction

With the PagePixels Screenshots Zapier app, you can convert data from thousands of apps in Zapier into screenshots, including your Google Sheets data.

To accomplish this, you can use PagePixels' Take a Screenshot of Custom HTML Action in Zapier. This Action accepts data from one or more apps that you wrap in HTML tags to create a custom screenshot.

How to automate screenshots of private Google Sheets data using Zapier

To create a screenshot of new or updated data in a Google Sheet row:

Create a new Zap

Click "Create", then select "Zap" from the list of options.

Set up Google Sheets New or Updated Spreadsheet Row Trigger app event

Click the Trigger button.

Search and select the Google Sheets app.

Select the "New or Updated Spreadsheet row" app event.

Choose your Google Sheets account. Click Continue.

Configure which spreadsheet column you want to monitor for your trigger. Click Continue.

Click Test trigger.

Click Continue with selected record to finish setting up your Trigger app event.

Set up PagePixels Take a Screenshot of Custom HTML Action app event

Search for "pagepixels" and choose the "PagePixels Screenshots" app.

Select the Take a Screenshot of a Custom HTML Action event.

Choose your PagePixels account and click Continue.

Add HTML tags into the "Custom HTML" field. Use the plus button to select the Google Sheet data you want to include in your screenshot.

Finish configuring your screenshot and click Continue.

Click Test Step button.

Preview the test response.

Send the screenshot to another Zapier app.

Click the plus Add Step button, and select your desired app.

For this example, search for and select the Gmail app.

Choose the Send Email action event. Authorize or select your Gmail account, and click the Continue button.

Click the plus button and select Direct Link to add your screenshot to the email "Body" field.

You can use an img HTML tag to display the screenshot in the email. Note: You'll need to set the "Body type" field to "HTML" for this work.

Finish configuring your email message, and click Continue.

Click Test Step to test your email message.

Click Publish to activate your Zap automation.

EXAMPLE RESULT

Your Zapier screenshot automation is active. Now when a new row or update happens in your selected Google Sheet column, Zapier will use PagePixels to capture a screenshot of that data and email the image using your Gmail.
