How to automate taking screenshots of Meteoblue weather forecasts

Learn how to automatically capture screenshots of Meteoblue's 14-day weather forecast for your location using PagePixels.

Introduction

Prerequisites

Before you start, you'll need:

  • A PagePixels account.
  • A link to a Meteoblue weather page for the location that interests you.
    • For example, the following link shows the weather forecast for Lisbon, Portugal:

How to automate screenshots of Meteoblue current weather reports

To capture daily automatic screenshots of the Meteoblue 14-day weather forecast section in mobile view:

Create a screenshot

Log in to your PagePixels account, and click the +Create Screenshot button.

Set your schedule

By default, scheduled screenshots are taken every 5 minutes.

For a daily screenshot, update the fields to: 1 Days

Add URL

Copy and paste the link to a Meteoblue weather report page into the Website URL to Capture field.

For example:

Add CSS Selector

PagePixels CSS Selector option helps you capture a specific element on a web page.

In this case - to screenshot only the 14-day weather forecast information on Meteoblue's website, you can use the CSS Selector:

Increase Wait Time

Scroll to the Waiting section.

Change the Time to wait value from 1500 (default) to: 8000

This will give the page more time to load before taking the screenshot. Max is 20000 (unless you have the 5-minute Timeout Addon).

Change Page Width

Scroll to the Page Setup section.

Update the Page Width field from 1920 (default) to: 540

This makes the mobile version of Meteoblue's weather forecast section display in the screenshot.

(Optional) Add Custom CSS

PagePixels CSS injection option is useful for customizing the style of a web page or a specific element you want to screenshot.

In this case - to add padding to left and right side of the 14-day forecast elements, you can use the CSS:

Save Screenshot

Click the green Save Screenshot button (top-right).

Your screenshot automation is officially set, and your first Meteoblue weather report screenshot will be taken shortly.
